This week our Technical Director Dr Gavin Smith and I visited Swansea University / Prifysgol Abertawe Bay Campus to take part in #DiscoveChemEngLIVE.
#DiscoverChemEngLIVE is a unique event for school students (12 to 18-year-old) to discover chemical and process engineering and learn about the wide range of learning pathways and career opportunities available across Wales and the rest of the UK.
The interactive exhibition featured opportunities for students to take part in hands-on activities and speak with companies and organisations from a range of chemical engineering/process industries such as Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water, Zulu Joint Integrity & Training Ltd, InSite Technical Services, Valero Energy Ltd (UK), Pembrokeshire College, AtkinsRéalis, Tata Steel UK, BAE Systems, Arup, Oriel Science, Wales & West Utilities, Axium Process Ltd, Hyppo Hydrogen Solutions, Celtic Sea Power and GW-SHIFT
We were delighted to take part in this important event, especially the opportunity to speak with schoolchildren and hopefully inspire their future engineering journeys — whether through apprenticeships or academic pathways.
