We’re proud to unveil our newest mechanical joint integrity training rig, now installed at our Centre of Excellence near Bridgend — made possible by the gracious donation of pipework and ancillary equipment from JES Group Ltd and The Skills Academy
This generous contribution marks another milestone in our strong partnership with The Skills Academy, built over the past two years.
The Skills Academy offers a dynamic blended training model that bridges the gap between virtual learning and real-world industry experience. Their mission is to preserve and transfer valuable skills and expertise that might otherwise be lost through retirement, ensuring they continue to benefit future generations.
Their overarching goal is to future-proof the fabrication and welding training journey by delivering an enterprise-grade blended solution that directly tackles the skills shortage facing the industry in South Wales.
Together, Zulu and The Skills Academy have championed the advancement of engineering skills across Wales and beyond — supporting STEM initiatives, engineering apprenticeships, and the upskilling and retraining of individuals entering the hazardous process industries as well as preparing those for future industry skills.
The new rig is also a cornerstone of our Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship Support Programme, offering a hands-on, structured training pathway that integrates employer site-based experience with academic study at college or university — preparing the next generation of engineers with real-world skills and global certification opportunities.
A sincere and heartfelt thank you to all at JES Group Ltd and The Skills Academy for your continued support and shared vision.
Let’s keep building the future of engineering, together.
