Today we’re focusing our attention on Jet-Lube bolt lubricant
With more than 70 years of research with development, testing and manufacturing, Jet-Lube® has a broad line of products for industrial, MRO, marine, food grade and OEM applications.
At our joint integrity ‘Centre of Excellence,’ we have relied on Jet-Lube 550 EXTREME for more than five years. This bolt lubricant has also become a preferred choice among many of our clients within the UK oil & gas and petrochemical sectors.
550 EXTREME is the ideal product for petrochemical and oil refinery plant maintenance needs. The lubricant assures protection against rust, oxidation, and corrosion. It will not harden, evaporate, or settle out; and it requires no thinning. In addition to MoS2 (Molybdenum Disulphide), graphite, and low friction fillers, 550 EXTREME utilises a complex grease base that is fortified with effective rust and corrosion inhibitors and inherent anti-wear properties.
As an added benefit, when compared to other anti-seize compounds containing greater than 40% MoS2 (Molybdenum Disulphide) , the coefficient friction of 550 EXTREME is less sensitive to temperature.

Lubricating bolts enhances the performance, reliability, and longevity of the bolted flange assembly – and can make ALL the difference!
Proper lubrication ensures that the torque applied to the bolts is consistent, which helps achieve the desired clamping force. This consistency is crucial for maintaining the integrity of the bolted flange assembly.
For all our joint integrity courses (inc. ASME PCC-1 2022, ECITB MJI10 and BS EN 1591-4:2013) our preferred choice of lubricant manufacturer is Jet-Lube.
