This evening I attended the official Grŵp Colegau NPTC Group of Colleges Floating Offshore Wind Project Launch at Swansea University Bay Campus.
Presented by NPTC, The Crown Estate and Celtic Sea Power, this was a very informative and interesting insight into the proposed offshore wind project in the Celtic Sea – involving several Welsh ports, particularly the Port Talbot deep water harbour and surrounding area.
It was a great opportunity for me to network, meet new contacts within the region and see some familiar faces (Shaun Spencer from OCU Academy – Neath).
This is an exciting time for the south Wales region and it’s important that the private business sector, government and further education establishments commence collaborating to establish the skills required to prepare, build and maintain this incredible project.
