Last week we welcomed two very special visitors to our training centre: Bob Everson and Wayne Pedlar
Both bring a wealth of expertise in rotating equipment and mechanical sealing technology, and they joined us to learn more about our upcoming 2026 apprentice training programme, which will include centrifugal pump overhaul.
“I first met Wayne nearly 30 years ago during my time at Flexibox International (now John Crane), and my connection with Bob goes back even further to my own apprenticeship at BP. Although both are now retired, their technical knowledge remains unsurpassed.
We’ll always make time to catch up with them over a coffee, discussing not only the challenges facing our industry but also how we can support young men and women embarking on their mechanical engineering careers.
Some fantastic ideas were shared today, and we’ll certainly be incorporating them into our training programme.
Thank you Bob and Wayne — your insight continues to shape the future of our apprentices.” Christopher Mellows, Director of Zulu Joint Integrity and Training
