Human Factors – Chronic Unease

Chronic unease means noticing those weak danger signals and responding to them in a much stronger way, it means knowing when to think fast and when to think slow, using our expertise to think quickly in familiar situations, but also being able to stand back and take the time to think things through when we need to.

We want the learner to reflect on what the term means to them in their work activities and relate it to situations at their own site.

During this course, you will have an opportunity to learn how to prevent incidents from happening within your working environment in the future.

This half day course would be particularly beneficial for individuals in roles where safety and risk management are critical. This includes:

• Maintenance personnel: responsible for critical tasks at site.

• Safety Managers and Officers: To maintain a vigilant approach to risk management and
prevent complacency.

• Supervisors and Team Leaders: To foster a culture of continuous safety improvement
and encourage proactive risk assessment.

• Project Managers in High-Hazard Industries: Such as oil and gas, nuclear, and
chemical sectors, where the consequences of accidents can be severe.

• Leaders in High Reliability Organizations (HROs): Where maintaining a state of
alertness and scepticism towards potential risks is crucial.

The goal is to instil a mindset that constantly questions and evaluates safety measures, ensuring that even the smallest signs of potential issues are addressed promptly.

The course is delivered within a classroom environment and assessed through a combination of formative question and answer sessions only.

The course includes video, audio, photographic and physical training aids.

A certificate of attendance will be issued by Zulu Joint Integrity & Training Ltd
This course can be delivered at our new Centre of Excellence, M4 junction 35 (Pencoed) or at your site/premises.
