NEW FOR SEPTEMBER 2025

If you are a training manager from the process industries in South Wales responsible for mechanical engineering apprentices, you may be interested in our latest Mechanical Joint Integrity Programme that is designed to complement the current apprenticeship framework of academic studies and hands-on site experience.

The programme will be delivered at our new joint integrity ‘Centre of Excellence’ at M4 junction 35, Bridgend and attendance can be as flexible as required in terms of splitting the courses on individual days or back-to-back blocks – whatever suits your business.

Apprentices will have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of mechanical joint integrity with a structured training package designed to enhance both practical experience and theoretical knowledge.

The programme includes various individual courses that offer industry approved qualifications and certification including;

✅ Human Factors (Chronic Unease) “A crucial element in workplace safety”
✅ ECITB MJI10 – Hand Torque Bolted Connection Techniques
✅ ECITB TMJI10 (Technical Test) this will be undertaken within 12 months of successfully completing the MJI10 course and forms the basis of the ECITB 4-stage model of individual competency
✅ ECITB MJI23 – Powered Torque Gun (Flange and Hub Clamp)
✅ BS EN 1591-4:2013 – Flanges and their joints; Qualification of personnel competency in the assembly of the bolted connections of critical service pressurised systems

The emphasis is on developing hands-on skills while grasping the science behind bolted flange connections.
The training includes both classroom learning and workshop practical sessions led by industry-experienced professionals. Our CHUCK data processors, instrumented bolts and Skidmore Wilhelm bolt load indicators all play an integral part in demonstrating to the apprentices the ‘why’ as well as the ‘how’ to safely make bolted flange joint assemblies.

For apprentices looking to bridge the gap between education and real-world application, this offers a solid foundation to build expertise in a discipline that plays a critical role in engineering reliability and safety at any site.

We pride ourselves on our flexibility to work with you to achieve these industry approved qualifications and certification and are more than happy to discuss setting a programme throughout 2025 and 2026
