We are proud to deliver training to mechanical apprentices throughout our process industries and over the years it’s been great to see these young men and women develop their careers in their respective chosen engineering fields.
This week, we celebrate the impact of apprenticeships and the value apprentices bring to an organisation;
✅Apprenticeships offer hands-on experience in the field, which is invaluable for building practical skills.
✅ Apprentices can earn a salary while they learn, making it a financially viable option compared to traditional education routes.
✅ Many apprenticeships lead to recognized qualifications that can enhance career prospects.
✅ Apprenticeships often provide a clear pathway for career progression within the company.
✅ Working within the industry allows apprentices to build a professional network that can be beneficial throughout their careers.
✅ Apprenticeships provide companies with a pipeline of skilled workers who are trained to meet their specific needs and standards.
✅ Training apprentices can be more cost-effective than hiring already trained professionals since apprenticeships often come with funding incentives and grants.
✅ Developing talent internally ensures that there is a steady supply of qualified individuals ready to step into key roles in the future.
Serving an apprenticeship is NOT a second option to a degree! It’s not about one being better than the other; it’s about what aligns best with your learning style, career aspirations, and personal circumstances. Some people even choose to combine both by starting with an apprenticeship and later pursuing a degree to further advance their careers.
UK industry is DESPERATE for mechanical engineering craftsmen and women and therefore we need to invest and increase our intake of apprentices to fully support our existing (and incoming) industries.
Not only do we ne need to inspire young men and women to chose an engineering apprenticeship and begin their career journey’s, but we also need to ensure that industry and UK Government fully supports and develops the apprenticeship scheme. Investing in apprenticeships is a strategic move that benefits the UK industry’s growth, innovation, and overall operational success.
