Today we were pleased to welcome Eliot Jones and Lee Sexton to our Centre of Excellence as they begin their UK Government‑funded NPT Transition Training Programme.
Their first step was our Human Factors (Chronic Unease) course — an essential foundation for safe, high‑reliability work in the process industries.
During our programme delivery, they will progress onto our Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE)‑approved Mechanical Joint Integrity course (BS EN 1591‑4:2013), followed by ECITB MJI10 and MJI23 practical training and assessment.
With the recent redundancy situation at Tata Steel Port Talbot, many highly skilled individuals across South Wales are now seeking opportunities to re‑train, upskill, or enhance their existing competencies so they can continue contributing to the wider process industries sector across Wales and the UK.
Our role is to ensure that those transitioning from the steelworks have access to practical, industry‑approved training that builds confidence, strengthens capability, and opens doors to new employment pathways.
We’re proud to support that journey — one learner at a time.
If you know someone who may benefit from this fully funded programme, please encourage them to reach out – for further information regarding funding eligibility, course content and training programme details, contact NPT Employability;
